Supporting Students
The Key Stage team, comprising Heads and Assistant Heads of Year, a Director and Assistant Director of Sixth Form, and Heads and Assistant Heads of Houses provide a high level of skilled care to all students.
The school sets out to accept people for who they are, to offer them security, guidance and opportunities, and to respect them all as adult and well intentioned in aspiration if not always in action. Teachers, administrative staff, the SEND team, a home school link worker, youth relational worker and careers officer, all support students’ well-being and create a harmonious and warm atmosphere throughout the school.
A transition programme is supported by Music College and sports activities. A Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning programme in Years 7 and 8 helps students understand and adapt their own behaviour and respond appropriately to other people. Students meet their tutor twice a day and spend time each week with their tutor following a programme of study skills, social and moral education, Citizenship and Careers Education and Guidance. A week’s Work Experience is organised for all students in Year 10 as well as for some Sixth Form students.
