Guildford County School has an established reputation for academic excellence, and we are very proud of the results our students achieve year after year.

At Guildford County, we promote individual excellence within a caring community. We pride ourselves on the fact that every individual is known, valued and recognised for their individual qualities and for the different contributions they make to our successful school. We want each student to grow and flourish in a supportive and stimulating environment which enables them to fulfil their potential. Through our well established House system, focusing on academic achievement and activities in sport, music, drama and public speaking, we run a challenging programme of performances and competitions throughout the year which inspire staff and students alike.

Guildford County is designated as one of a small number of Specialist Music Colleges; we are a regional centre of excellence and have a firmly embedded culture of participation in Music, the impact of which raises achievement across the whole curriculum.  We also work in partnership with local schools and community groups to share our expertise with other practitioners and celebrate the role music plays in learning, creativity and life.

We are delighted you are thinking of joining our school. If you would like an opportunity to see us at work we would be happy to accommodate you.  Please make an appointment to come and discover what makes our school an exciting place to be and a vibrant place to learn and work.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share in this obligation. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure by the DBS.
