Assistant Headteacher - Learning and Teaching

This is a full-time position starting on the 1st September 2023

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Learning and Teaching to join this successful school as part of the Senior Leadership Team as well as teach up to and including A Level in their subject area.  The successful applicant will embed a culture that will ensure the highest quality systems, inform outstanding classroom practice and ultimately deliver exceptional student outcomes.  The successful applicant will develop a culture that will ensure the very best learning opportunities in all lessons, including a framework for the effective evaluation of teaching, feedback and improvement.

Whilst the specific nature of this vacancy relates to Learning and Teaching, at Guildford County School we are committed to ensuring the full and rounded development of colleagues working at this level.  As such, we seek to rotate colleagues around these roles when the time is right for the team, in order to give the best possible career opportunities to our Assistant Heads and also to gain fresh skills and ideas for the school.  For your interest, we currently have three Assistant Headteachers – AHT Learning and Teaching (this role); AHT Progress and Logistics (responsible for the day to day running of the organisation and for ensuring that we are progress data rich); AHT Director of Sixth Form.
